Italian Caprese Salad Recipe
A delicious and simple Caprese salad with tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and spices.

Ingredients
4
medium ripe tomatoes
fresh mozzarella cheese slices
(1 per tomato slice)

cup
fresh basil leaves
(shredded)
¼
cup
extra virgin olive oil
salt
(to taste)
black pepper
(to taste)
garlic salt
(to taste)
balsamic glaze
(optional)
Instructions
Slice tomatoes in ¼ or ½ inch thick slices, discarding top and bottom slice.
Alternate slices of tomato and fresh mozzarella slices on a serving platter.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
Sprinkle with shredded fresh basil.
Add a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic glaze if using and serve.
Notes
Try it with some
homemade balsamic glaze
for a flavor boost.
